Brookmans Park Station opened on Monday 19 July 1926. John Aylard wrote about "The LNER's New Station At Brookmans Park" in an article titled "A Light Under A Bushel" in the British Railways Illustrated magazine volume 10, December 2000.

According to the article there was no official opening for the station and publicity was "at an absolute minimum"... "There were no official photos" and "no personality of celebrity was invited to open it".
